A split-level venue featuring a pub and a basement speakeasy bar, The Dominion League serves up craft beer, cider, creative cocktails and over 300 spirits.

Named after a movement started in 1929 in an attempt to secede from the Commonwealth, The Dominion League is a split-level venue with a pub-style bar at street level and a covert speakeasy-style hideaway downstairs. While there are exposed brick walls throughout, it’s the curved velvet booths, patterned carpets and hundreds of spirit bottles crammed behind the basement bar that has us most excited.
Cocktails at The Dominion League are regularly changing, although past delights have included classics like The Clover Club (raspberry gin, lemon, raspberry syrup and egg white), as well as a modern take on the float, featuring whisky, Italian herbal liqueur, bitters, and cola topped with whisky ice cream. And speaking of whisky, The Dominion League are particularly proud of their selection, which includes some rare and unusual malts, many of which can be sampled on their whisky tasting evenings. Spirits aside, The Dominion League has a small selection of craft beer and cider on tap, as well as an impressive wine list that, wonderfully, can all be ordered by either the glass or the bottle. The food is gastropub-style fare, spanning everything from bar snacks (like devils on horseback and falafel crab cakes) to more hearty mains (spiced lamb belly and ribs and ouzo prawns with barrel-aged feta).
