Horse Brass Pub
Portland Oregon-City-Center
May 11, 2018
A short journey from Seattle, this British pub is in the heart of Portland and sidesteps the usual theme bar pitfalls. It’s a warm and inviting space, with dark beams on the ceiling and the inevitable darts board. Roomy and comfortable, it’s deceptively large inside with plenty of small seating areas, but the biggest pull comes in the form of the vast selection of local and imported beers on offer. The Horse Brass boasts some 52 beers on tap including some interesting craft brews and a handful of Belgians. It has a lively atmosphere and is usually crowded with a mixture of ex-pat Brits and locals in search of well pulled pint. Truth be told, the service can be a bit erratic, but maybe that’s an English import too?
What their peers say
“One of the nation’s best pubs in America’s premier beer town. Lots of cask conditioned ales, darts, footie on the telly and crooked teeth from one side of the bar to the next. Perfectly authentic. Extraordinarily Satisfying!” Ryan Magarian
