The exclusive Costa Smeralda is well known for its luxury hotels, beloved by the international jet set who choose to holiday by its emerald waters. Among them is Hotel Romazzino, which is famed for its exceptional seafront location and unspoiled private beach. The hotel’s Bar Ginepro makes the very most of the stunning views, with not one but two terraces, where guests can gaze out over Romazzino Bay to Mortorio Island – an uninhabited isle home to a number of rare species of wildlife. The hotel’s lush gardens fragrance the air with flowering hibiscus, rosemary and macchia, while a magnificent juniper tree takes centre stage. In keeping with the rest of the hotel, the terraces are decked out in authentically Sardinian style, with simple furnishings in Mediterranean hues, all set against the building’s distinctive sweeping white-washed walls. The result is a relaxed atmosphere that invites guests to sink back into the cushioned seats and let the sheer beauty of the surroundings wash their troubles away – with the help of a cocktail or two. Inside the bar, the curves of those signature walls create inviting nooks and crannies where guests can tuck themselves away for an intimate tête-à-tête while they enjoy an aperitif or listen to the after-dinner piano music.
