- Night Out
May 11, 2018
In the heart of Porto’s busy Baixa district, Conceição 35 has quickly carved a niche for itself in the nightlife scene of the city with its combination of cool decor, great food and drinks, nightlife, and most of all, a welcoming atmosphere for all. A cool and eclectic aesthetic greets all at Conceição 35, as vintage art deco pieces combine with bold red walls, dark worn woods, industrial facades, and gorgeous natural light streaming in from skylights to create an utterly unique style. During the day, light snacks (think sandwiches and tapas) are the order of the day, and at night the venue comes alive with a fun crowd from all slices of Porto life. In fact, the owner had this in mind when he opened Conceição 35, intending it to be a bar that welcomes all: gay, straight, transgender, or none of the above. At night, things pick up, as theme parties and DJs keep the party going until the wee hours (4am on the weekends), and the bartenders mix up quality drinks like the eponymous house cocktail made of premium vodka, apple juice, cucumber, lemon, mint, and egg white for a frothy finish. Conceição 35 is also home to a fun collection of wine-centric concoctions like sangria available by the glass or the jar, beer on draft, and several varieties of champagne.
