Located on one of Porto’s loveliest, and liveliest, streets, Xico Queijo’s combination of tapas and cocktails make it the perfect place to start a night out.
Home to wood bench-style tables, striking light fixtures, a smooth marble bar, and shelves stocked with cool vintage radios and wine bottles inside, coupled with a leafy terrace full of comfy director’s chairs and oversized umbrellas outside, Xico Queijo is a gorgeous venue. The space’s simple yet sensational style carries over to the menu, as beautifully-presented tapas (think Iberian hams, olives, artisan breads and cheeses, jams, and tapenades) are presented on rustic wooden cutting boards, and we can’t think of a better place to snack before an evening out in Porto.
When it’s time to move on to the drinks, Xico Queijo’s bar is overstocked with quality spirits, wine, and beer, and their house potions served in sharing pitchers are true showstoppers. Examples of these include a sangria made with rosé wine, cucumber, and grapes; one with sparkling limoncello; and even their own special take on the classic patio drink – the Pimm’s Cup. All these drinks pair perfectly with the aforementioned terrace, which has evolved into one of the places to be seen on the grand Galeria de Paris, so make sure to get there early to snag a seat.
