This attractive Prague bar has been designed in the style of a Prohibition era speakeasy.
Located on the second lower level of the Hotel U Prince in Prague’s handsome Old Town Square, it’s a grand gothic space, atmospheric and stone vaulted, with the statue of a black angel perched atop the bar. Bottles of every kind congregate behind it like a shrine.
The bartenders have been richly and deservedly awarded for their classic yet creative drinks. Many of the cocktails hail from the American golden age – classics like the Manhattan, the Mary Pickford, the Sgropinno, the Sazerac and the Sidecar. They also do a nice line in tiki drinks, while their signature list includes distinctive twists on the Old
Fashioned and the Mai Tai. The Angel’s Iced Tea is dangerous mix of Beefeater and Havana Club along with other wicked spirits and they also serve a wide range of wines and champagnes. There’s also a cigar menu if that’s your kind of thing. Service is efficient and courteous and the whole place exudes an air of sophistication.
