Nebe Cocktail and Music Bar
May 11, 2018
Situated below the Kolkovna Group’s popular Czech fine dining restaurant Celnice, Nebe Cocktail and Music Bar is housed in an attractively restored cellar. Nebe means ‘sky’ in Czech, which sounds like an odd name for a basement bar, but the venue’s high arched ceilings at least help to open up the large underground space. A good air conditioning system and extractor fans help to prevent the venue feeling like a smoke pit, too. Furnished in contemporary coffee hues with a sophisticated lighting system that highlights the venue’s design features, Nebe features a long, backlit bar where the staff busily whip up concoctions from the 100-strong cocktail list (some of which can be ordered in buckets). They’ll also serve up any mixed drink that takes your fancy, or pull you the perfect and perfectly affordable pint of Czech beer. Frequented by a heady mix of younger locals and visitors, Nebe’s soundtrack is dominated by pop and rock hits from the 80s to the current charts, with music videos played on a projector screen. As it’s more of a dance hall than a mellow bar, seating is limited to plush white leather stools, but there are plenty of them available if you need a break. After a formal dinner upstairs or simply a long day sightseeing, Nebe is the spot to let your hair down for a night of unadulterated, cheesy fun.
