The buzzy, contemporary Bistro B serves a regularly rotating menu of upmarket and well-executed French fare alongside a range of excellent and creative cocktails. The interior is simple and stylish, the narrow room decked out with lots of dark wood. There are black banquettes and a bar at which you can perch. Dishes are chalked on the blackboard and choices might include chorizo Waldorf salad, roasted lamb’s liver, pasta with pesto, rocket and candied bacon, or a creamy potato and bacon soup (someone clearly loves their bacon). The menu changes often depending on what’s fresh and available and that’s part of the appeal. They also serve some top quality mixed drinks alongside some very well chosen wines and beers. The staff are passionate about what they do and it shows in the cooking. The atmosphere is convivial and winning too.
