Gem bar of the gorgeously restored Hotel De Russie, this is the perfect little oasis for summer evening romance with your bellissima. It’s set around a stunning courtyard where you can sit back and sip Dom Perignon or De Russie Martinis, snack on bowls of caviar, and listen to bells peal out from the nearby Piazza del Popolo. Pure class. There’s a buffet lunch best eaten in the courtyard sunshine, an afternoon tea that would shame the Ritz and, all around you moneyed men and women in Armani, Versace and Gucci shades looking like they’re in a Fellini film. The De Russie Martini apart, we also highly recommend their Negronis – something about this classic in a Collins glass that the Italians do so well, perhaps because it’s named after a Florentine count.
