San Francisco's Maven is a modern restaurant and bar serving delicious and creative food alongside cocktails paired to perfectly complement each flavor.

Maven is a modern American restaurant and bar with an interior decor that is almost as unique as its menu concept. Light and airy, with attractive candle-lit wooden tables and ambient red light shades, in addition to a unique wood-and-plants bar facade and a mezzanine lounge that looks like a drawing room (complete with fireplace and comfy armchairs), Maven cuts a fine figure in San Francisco’s Lower Haight neighborhood.   Maven’s creative dinner menu is based around the pairing of cocktails with food. For example, the duck sliders are listed alongside the 5 Spot – aged rum, ginger, lime, maple, Thai basil and five spice – while the cauliflower soup is listed with the Milk of the Poppy – rye whiskey, poppy, clarified milk punch and honey. You can, of course, simply order the food or the drinks on their own, but the team behind the restaurant’s concept have paired all of these flavors to work in perfect harmony. There is also a separate cocktail menu to choose from, purely for pleasure, which includes delights like The Bond Girl – aquavit, aged gin, riesling, tarragon and scotch – and the Corpse Reviver #598 – gin, aperitif wine, lemon and coriander. In addition to dinner and cocktails, Maven serves a brunch menu and morning cocktails, along with an impressive range of top-shelf spirits.Photo credit:
