The Gaspar Brasserie is a handsome if rather traditional looking French-inspired bar and restaurant in the Galleria Park Hotel, the former home of Hecho, Midi and Perry’s. The space is divided into a bar downstairs and dining room upstairs overlooking Sutter Street. There are dramatic crystal chandeliers, heavy fabric drapes and the obligatory tin ceilings, dapper severs in black and white. The bar area boasts a row of banquettes and a more intimate, hushed vibe. Kick things off with a classic French aperitif or the House Old Fashioned before tackling the menu of fresh seafood, salads, cheeses, escargots and house charcuterie. Oysters and champagne, you say? Don’t mind if we do. Cocktails include an Absinthe Frappe, a Champagne Frappe and the Napoleon’s Own, a fruity yet potent blend of cognac, aged rum, lime and pineapple.
