This handsome fine dining and drinking spot on Polk Street boasts an innovative drinks lost care of Christopher Longoria. The cocktails take their name from their key ingredients and are complex, balanced things. The Pear-Ginger is a case in point, a gin drink with Italian wine laced with pear and ginger and served with a Campari ice cube which scents the liquid it sits in. The Basil-Mezcal Sour is similarly intriguing with its sprinkling of agave and herb, fragrant with lime. Of course the drinks are only half the story here. The food menu includes delectable Asian style grilled pork ribs, delicious fingerling potatoes with charred avocado and peanuts, and an epic fried duck sandwich with spicy aioli. Their ‘Coffee & Cigarettes’ dessert, a chocolate pot de crème with tobacco cookies and smoked milk foam is acclaimed with good reason. They have an excellent wine list and their brunch dishes are also well worth exploring.
