Harper and Rye
San Francisco-Nob Hill and Chinatown
May 11, 2018
Replacing the popular Red Devil Lounge, Harper and Rye has quickly bedded in. This industrial space with its distinctive semi-circular back-bar, its joists and wood and beamed ceiling – and its piano, we live a piano – is now home to a cool new cocktail bar. There’s an exciting drinks list, the work of David Ruiz, of Padrecito’s bar, and drinks include the Frankie & Levi, a punchy blend of bourbon, raspberry, grapefruit shrub, lemon and ancho, and Victor and Nancy, a mix of mezcal, carrot, lime and citrus chile powder. There are also punch jars designed for sharing – try the Peruvian Punch, a blend of pisco, pineapple cordial, lime & red wine – as well as a good range of beers on draft, including Abita Purple Haze and Magnolia Kalifornia Kolsch. Don’t overlook the selection of bottled and canned beer available as there are a number of choice options here too. No food yet but you can’t have everything.
