This industrial-chic lounge on Polk Street boasts a small bit tempting list of inventive cocktails and an exciting and varied craft-beer selection. Booths are vintage, there’s flaking and weathered but bright paint on the walls, lots of raw wood and a salvaged feel to a lot of the décor. The old bar rail is even borrowed from Koko’s and the whole place has a friendly, low-key neighbourhood vibe. Cocktails include the Ampersand, a potent blend of Old Tom Gin, Brandy, sweet vermouth, and orange bitters, a classic Old Pal, that mix of rye, Campari, and dry vermouth and a smooth OG Aviation, blending gin, fresh lemon, maraschino, and creme de violette. There’s a great range of local craft brews on tap and by the bottle and can as well as a few palatable wines and some ‘cheap’ beer for the unfussy or those with a serious thirst on. Nice neighbourhood vibe too.
