San Francisco-North Beach
May 11, 2018
The North Beach oasis has a sultry, rustic vibe. The back alley bar boasts a great jukebox and serves superior drinks with top quality bar bites. The venue has been given a handsome recent paintjob on the inside but still boasts the same neon sign in the alley, beckoning you into this dimly lit, urban, semi-sort-of speakeasy. There are local brews on tap, including Hunters Point Porter. Cocktails include the Hayride, a blend of bisongrass vodka, lemongrass-sauvignon blanc, lemon, kolsch, and the Peach Blanket BBQ, a blend of scotch whisky, creme de pêche, amaro, maple, lemon, cayenne, and kolsch. The kitchen stays open late serving tasty small plates, cheese and charcuterie and their punch drunk brunch is rightfully popular. Team their lobster benedict or their hot buttered biscuits with gravy or maple butter with a brunch cocktail or two; drinks like the Bloody Hammer, a mix of white whiskey, tomato, lemon, smoky hot sauce, and pickles, are guaranteed to wake you up.
