San Francisco-Outer San Francisco

The latest (and by far the largest) venture from the team behind the popular Beretta and Starbelly, Lolinda is an attempt at a modern Argentine Steakhouse with a Californian edge. The space is enormous with high ceilings and a big balcony area. On the main floor, there is a large open bar area, with some walk-in seating and a spacious dining area. The cocktail menu is of the same high standards as Beretta, divided into classic and original drinks, the latter care of head bartender Chris Lane. Drinks are in keeping with the steakhouse style, potent tipples to pair with hefty plates of food. Tequila features frequently. The Cloak and Dagger pairs tequila, with Cynar, apricot, bitters, and orange peel while the Long Palm is a mix of house spiced rum, lime, grapefruit, honey, and bitters. We rather like the sound of the Fior de Jerez, an aromatic Spanish-scented blend of Amontillado Sherry, rum, lemon, and apricot. The food menu meanwhile is divided into hot and cold small plate, skewers and grills. For dessert you’ll definitely want to save space for the peanut butter mousse. The space is versatile and you can either come here for an epic steak dinner or just drop by for cocktails and a snack. The size of the space means it can get deafeningly loud in there, but the atmosphere more than makes up for it.
