SoMa’s new Victory Hall & Parlor, which occupies the space formerly home to nightclub 330 Ritch, boasts a stylish, vaguely industrial bar area, serving up classic cocktails and more contemporary tipples, alongside get this a takeout window offering Little Skillet chicken. That’s the kind of combination we love. The bar itself is hansome, festooned with oil lamps and long communal tables. The drinks are well made and potent try the Blind Swordsman, a vegetal blend of gin, beet, cucumber, basil and a champagne float, or The Bloody Dragon, a ginger-spiked, Asian-inspired take on the classic Bloody Mary – and if you get hungry, you can indulge in Cajun-fried oysters, an epic house burger and other Southern inspired comfort food from the dudes at Little Skillet. These guys know their chicken and there’s some seriously good cooking going on here but while Little Skillet is a daytime operation these guys are open late, meaning you can indulge after dark. There’s a good array of ales available on tap and their brunch offerings are also well worth exploring. Indulge on a cocktail or two by all means but don’t forget your chicken fix.
