Dirty Water occupies the lower floor of the Twitter building, making it a popular spot with tech workers, as well as with a wider cocktail-loving crowd. The bar-restaurant-brewery is the work Kristian Cosentino, who knows a thing or two about beers. The name comes from a pre-prohibition term for whiskey and whiskey does indeed play a big part in the bar’s drinks programme. The place is otherwise very well-stocked with good things to imbibe.The beer range is huge, with some 52 beers on tap, as well as a range of brews from Dirty Water’s own onsite facilities. Their are lost of rare and unusual beers to choose from, alongside a dizzying selection of wines on tap, over 100 – they use the Coravin system. The cocktail list focusses on rare spirits and includes some seriously creative drinks, including the King of Carrot Flowers, a refreshing blend of gin, carrot, ginger, ver jus, dry vermouth, kummel and absinthe. The space itself is sleek and handsome, large and light, and it has an appealing urban buzz about it.
