Forgery is a cool, casual cocktail bar on Mission Street, a bi-level, brick-walled space with a modern vibe, it’s the work of the PlumpJack Group’s Jacques Bezuidenhout and is housed in a former glass-blowing studio space. The bar menu includes expertly curated cocktails and an expansive wines-by-the-glass list. Original drinks include the Forged and Bound, a mix of rye, Chartreuse and bitters, the Minty Ten, a blind of gin, vermouth, apple and a good glug of crème de menthe, and the Cadiz, an aromatic mix of cumin infused vodka, sherry and passion fruit. They also put their own twists on a number of classic drinks including a Spanish Negroni laced with sherry, and a Pickled Swede made with dill infused vermouth and vodka. There’s a good selection of local craft brews available too if that’s how you roll, prices are pocket-friendly, and the service is friendly and knowledgeable.
