Luminous blue neon light, waiters dressed like Shaolin monks in sleek black outfits and ambient sounds drifting through it all – you feel as if you’ve entered some Japanese fashion shoot. It is in fact Santiago’s hottest Pan Asian restaurant-bar, serving fine cocktails and exquisite selections of sashimi and miso you never thought possible this side of the Chinese Sea. Predictably it draws a hip young crowd of Chilean beauties, many of them magazine-cover gorgeous, with dashing Latin men on their arms. For all the interior sleekness it’s the beautiful garden you will want to be in on summer nights, soaking up the midnight sun, sake and other powerfully built cocktail concoctions. There is no sign on the door outside, so listen for the sounds of joyous people when you try to find it.
