Z Carniceria Bar
May 11, 2018
We’ve heard of bars housed in former banks and former warehouses, but we’ve not come across one before in a former beef-packing shop. The interior has been retained in an almost amusingly faithful way. The stark white tile walls and meats counters are all present and correct; there are even a couple of meat hooks dangling from the ceiling. The space was walled up for almost twenty years before being rediscovered and repurposed; now it’s a cool and quirky bar with an appealing 1950s retro vibe. Red neon glints behind the bar and the customers stand around looking hip as they sip their cocktails; in another ironic twist the menu’s very veggie friendly. DJs do their thing from late evening onwards and the place has an real buzz about it, staying open until mid-morning on weekends.
