Poquitos is an upscale Mexican bar and restaurant on Pike Street serving classic dishes and superior margaritas in a bright and vibrant setting. The décor is attractive, all ironwork and tiles. There’s a vast and comprehensive tequila menu, a huge variety to choose from, including mainstream brands and more smalls-scale producers, there’s also a range of flight options to help forward your tequila education. Food is seasonal and authentic. Peppers stuffed with chicken tinga, rich mole sauces, pumpkin tamales, ancho-marinated carne asada, prawns in a chipotle sauce. If you’re still hungry their churros (and, seriously who can resist churros?) come with Cajeta, a warm spiced caramel, and they serve a molten chipotle chocolate cake which sounds ridiculously delicious. There’s a range of Mexican beers available too, but it’s hard to look past that tequila list.
