It’s not the snazziest bar around by any means, located in the back of an industrial park as it is, but the Bellevue Brewing Company has a lot going for it. One of the first real brew-pubs in the area, the rather cavernous space is populated by big steel tanks as well as flat screen TVs so you can watch the game or the occasional movie – while sipping your suds. The décor is simple enough, basic arrangements of table and chairs and a plain cement floor. The beer is the thing here, the reason people come. The BBC serves four of their own brewed beers, including an IPA, an Oatmeal Stout, a Scotch Ale and an ESB. The flavours are complex and the beers are all are available in 12-, 20-, or 25-ounce pours so you can try a wide variety if you so wish without overburdening your wallet (or your liver). The BBS also stocks a range of craft beers from other local independent breweries like Black Raven and Triplehorn Brewery. If you’re hungry (and well you might be after all that beer) the food menu includes tasty fare like pulled pork nachos, Cubano sandwiches and of course meat-laden flatbread pizza: solid, hearty dishes. The chili and the clam chowder is particularly special. The place can get pretty noisy when its busy, the acoustics aren’t designed for quiet conversation, but if you’re interested in beer at its best, you’ll want to pay this place a visit.
