The second venue to open in Seattle from the award winning chef Jason Wilson, Miller’s Guild is a stylish place with bar area reminiscent of an art installation – such is the quantity of bottles on display. The bar is stocked to the gunnels with local spirits and other goodies. There are also racks of barrels filled with libations in various stages of ageing. The drink menu is full of classic drinks with new world twists; drinks like the Haymaker’s Punch and an Old Fashioned made with lovely, lovely gin. There’s a good wine list too, including an impressive selection of wines by the bottle and by the glass; there’s also an on-trend choice of four wines on tap. The food offerings are pretty central, the open kitchen with its wood fired grill producing all manner of tasty grilled things, including flamed rib-eye steak, and wild king salmon. There’s an element of theatre too, to all this grilling action, meat meeting flame, so be sure to grab a ring-side seat if you can. Photo’s courtesy of Rina Jordan
