Jazz & Blues

Toulouse Petit has a new Orleans vibe. A big light space, sun spilling through its windows onto amber colored walls, it’s a handsome spot with a sizeable bar area and a cracking atmosphere. The cocktail list is full of zingy drinks like the Madame Tolouse, a mix of grapefruit vodka, peach, lemon, honey and sparkling wine, and the NW Reviver, which blends bourbon, amaro, calvados, gum syrup and orange. There are both early and late night happy hours (something of which we wholeheartedly approve) and the bar tenders can whip up a Hurricane or a Sazerac, if you want to get in the Bourbon Street. Order up a plate of crawfish beignets, a big slab of steak, some oven-roasted oysters, a bowl of the house gumbo or a wicked cheese plate. Don’t neglect the wine list. Or dessert for that matter. Come evening the place is lit by dozens of candles and takes on a rather magical quality, the atmosphere loud and uplifting and full of good cheer.
