Pop Terrace Bar
May 11, 2018
Occupying a slinky L-shaped space on the terrace of the famous Three on the Bund building’s rooftop, POP Bar brings a slice of authentic Art Deco Miami to China, becoming one of the hottest terraces to see-and-be-seen at in Shanghai along the way. The decor of POP Bar is South Beach tried-and-true, as neon buzzes and floral prints featuring toucans, alligators, and palms line the outdoor bar. You may even swear for a second that you can hear the sounds of water lapping up against the sand in the distance, but alas, you are in the center of Shanghai surrounded by skyscrapers, and while they don’t provide the same type of backdrop as the beach in Miami, they dazzle the eyes in their own right. The cocktail card at POP Bar is heavy on the tropical and fruity, with especially sun-kissed cocktails like the Ocean Breeze – coconut rum, blue curaçao, white cacao, lime juice, and ginger ale – the Miami Vice – whisky, Italian aperitif, orange, and anise – and the Ki-West – vodka, kiwi, rum, cucumber, sugar syrup, and lime – all making appearances. In addition, cool sharing cocktails and frosty alcoholic milkshakes are fun twists that help keep the temperatures down when the South Florida, we mean Shanghai, sun warms things up.
