28 HongKong Street

28 HongKong Street is one of the top drinking spots in Singapore (and indeed the world) with good reason. Location-wise, it’s a little hard to find and doesn’t look much from the outside but it’s worth seeking out. It’s a sleek and refined space with a handsome black marble bar and a handful of inviting booths. Stylish as that all sounds, it’s Michael Callahan’s cocktails that really light fires. These inventive, complex drinks include zingy things like theTai Tai Tipple and the Modest Mule, a aromatic blend of lemongrass-infused vodka and ginger beer.
Their take on the potent Corpse Reviver #2 is also guaranteed to wake you up. Award-winning Czech bartender, Zdenek Kastanek is also on cocktail duty meaning you’re always in good hands. The food offerings are also well worth exploring, in no way an afterthought; the bar boasts a creative farm-to-table menu and super-smooth table service. The jazz and rock soundtrack completes the picture and it’s clear a huge amount of care has been taken over all the elements of the whole bar experience, making it a great date place.
