Potato Head Folk

Owned by the same people behind the famous Potato Head beach bar in Bali, Potato Head Folk is an ambitious four-storey drink-and-dine venue encompassing a street-level burger bar, a reservations-only watering hole Studio 1939 (named after the year the building was built, as the white frontage attests) on level two, and a rooftop terrace bar, amongst other exciting corners. The Three Buns dining room and the rooftop bar both serve cocktails with a tropical twist. Many of these are mixed with their house-made fruit syrups and fresh Jerk Sodas. This can result in over-sweet cocktails with the fruit to the fore but the ones that hit, hit home. The Mexican Mule, a blend of tequila with lime and ginger beer, is a good bet. If you’re hungry there’s a huge range of burgers to choose from, simply presented in wax paper and super-tasty. Our favourite spot is the parlour-like 1939 bar. Here they serve a different range of cocktails, crafted by renowned mixologist Dre Masso, – amid elegant décor. It’s altogether more intimate and refined than the rest of the space and a great place in which to lose a few hours, sipping excellent drinks and soaking up the atmosphere.
