You’ll be forgiven for wondering what you’d let you’d let yourself in for as you climb the dark, rustic steps towards the second-floor entrance. Yet we assure you that this is one of Singapore’s freshest hotspots. Your reservations will fade away when you open the door to this intimate haven of good food, super-friendly service and some of Singapore’s best craft cocktails.
Think casual, cosy corner booths, low lighting and abstract art, with upmarket gold accents strewn around casually. Gibson opened in 2016 and breathed fresh air into the Singapore bar scene. Winning the accolade of best new cocktail bar in Singapore in its inaugural year, and constantly featuring high on Asia and the World’s Best Bar award winners list, Gibson has earned its stripes in just a few years of trading.
It would be criminal to visit and not order their namesake drink, The Gibson. This is no ordinary spin on one of the world’s most infamous cocktails and you won’t find any soggy pickled onions here. What you will find is a dry, yet delightfully fruity, mixed drink and a side garnish of smoked quail’s egg, wasabi leaves and caviar. This is also the ideal eatery for seafood lovers. We highly recommend the oysters of the day.
Gibson is the perfect spot for cosy lunches with a sprinkling of glamour. Its vintage vibe juxtaposed with a vivacious modern flair sets it apart from the usual scene. If you’re after a warm, inviting backdrop for good food and great mixed drinks, you don’t get better than this. A must-visit venue.
