- Night Out

Rub shapely shoulders with the crßme de la crßme of Sofia high society in what arguably is slickest bar and club in Sofia. Located somewhat intriguingly in the Military Club, it is made up of four separate rooms known as “White Hall”, “Gold Room”, “Tech House” and the Terrace. On weekends the Tech House is the hottest spot in town for those who have house leanings, courtesy of a top Turkish DJ whose name escapes us, although in point of fact we prefer the Latino nights on Wednesdays, for it is then that salsa lessons are held. Which means sangria. So we trust your “Dile Que No” ( that is to say, across-body lead) is up to scratch. Remember the rhythm: quick, quick, slow, quick, quick, slow. Which brings us to the clientele. Made-up girls on the prowl for Milanese modeling contracts join moneyed locals and ex-pats in the moody candle-lit bar the rest of the week. We were most struck by the acres of velvet plush with which the room is hung, which lend further appeal. All is dark and louche, not to say vaguely decadent. This is the thought of place where people are apt to take their clothes off, so if you are of a nervous disposition you have been warned. One has to say that the well-stocked bar has a quite stunning choice of whiskies and bourbon. So full marks there. Arguably the most exclusive spot in town, Cherilo’s Draconian the dress code is known rather ominously as “Face Control” – whatever that means.
