The seaside city of Split, Croatia is famous for quite a few things. First and foremost, it is the home of the ancient palace of Diocletian, with the former Roman emperor’s residence helping to form one of Europe’s most memorable waterfront promenades. Split is also home to a plethora of cool urban beaches (helping it consistently rank near the top Europe’s best places to mix ‘sun and city’), and tourists and locals alike both also love this Croatian city for its gorgeous mountains, which surround the town and afford fine views of the sea below. And oh yes, Split is also destined to become known as the home of Plava Kava, a fantastic bar and cafe where some of the best drinks and coffee on the coast are sipped. A sleek modern venue awaits at Plava Kava, with colorful leather chairs in shades of bright yellow and subdued grey (the perfect contrast, if you ask us) filling the space and spilling out to a breezy greenscaped terrace. During the day, the focus is on hot drinks here, as Plava Kava pours some of the most gorgeous mugs of coffee we’ve seen in this neck of the woods. Once the sun has set though, nightlife becomes the focus, as the venue fills up with a fun crowd looking to party, and they dance to the sounds of some of the best DJs in the city before resting up to come back and do it all again the next day.
