St. Petersburg has long been known as a city that loves a drink, and Tipplers is one of the latest to offer to quench this beautiful city-on-the- water’s thirst. To be sure though, Tipplers isn’t just any old bar, as in the short time it has been open, it has already risen to a prominent place in any discussion of St. Petersburg’s best cocktail bars with its attention to detail and more than unique presentation. Located in a low lit and slightly moody space, the interior design of Tipplers is heavy on stone, metal, and candlelight, with unique touches like the industrial buckets that pass for seating. The cocktail menu at Tippler’s warms things up with a blend of tasty modern and vintage classics from around the world and innovative house specials, all presented in stunning glassware – which, in fact, have become one of the calling cards of the venue. Local flavors are used whenever possible, with a fine example being the Zorka Julep, made with Russian Willowherb tea, mint, and a hint of rose. Medicinal bottles, tin chalices, and beakers are just some of the fun instruments used to transport the tipples, and the crowd walking away from the bar with them is as hip as you would imagine, with Tipplers filling to the walls most nights with some of St. Petersburg’s prettiest, yet laid back and fun, citizens.
