Gilt Lounge is a grown-up late-night lounge bar, presenting its decor and drinks with a flourish. Inside, you’ll find sleek furniture, red velvet curtains, flattering spotlights and plumped cushions, all of which combine to put you in the mood to imbibe and relax. Despite the intimate feel of the venue, Gilt Lounge caters perfectly to groups, with a special reserved area that can be curtained off for parties of up to 40 people. And no matter whether you’re drinking solo or with a group, the drinks card is bound to impress. Cocktails are seasonal, and lovingly-poured into crystal glassware or garnished with flair. A couple of our favorite concoctions include the East 8 Holdup (vodka, Italian aperitif, passionfruit, fresh lemon and pineapple juice) and the Millionaire (rum, sloe gin, apricot, fresh lime and grenadine), but Gilt Lounge is well-known for unique twists on classic cocktails – like the recent Umami Martini muddled with a brine that was fermented in-house using garlic shoots. As if all that wasn’t impressive enough, there’s also a long list of top-shelf spirits, wine served by the bottle or the glass and several international beers (both on draught and bottled). The food menu at Gilt Lounge is small but perfectly-formed, and includes bar bites, ceviche and some more meat-centric larger dishes. Our advice? Settle into a comfy chair and stay until late.
