The Ivy in Sydney, describes itself as a 'sophisticated urban playground for adults'. With a pool club outside - sip on a cocktail and take it all in.

This place is big. Seriously big. Describing itself as ‘a sophisticated urban playground for adults’, Ivy, an amazing bar, aims to offer a little of everything under one enormous roof. The venue, owned by Justin Hemmes, is made up of a number of distinct areas, each with their own personality, spread over several levels, and is unashamedly extravagant. Draped around a central courtyard, Ivy comprises a grill restaurant, a Japanese eatery, a lounge space and the dramatic, turquoise-walled Den where DJs play.

There’s a pool club outside, where you can sip original cocktails and eat gourmet pizzas from your private cabanas, or Palings Restaurant serves up a selection of seasonal dishes. Tucked away just behind Ivy is Ash St Cellars, a European bistro with a tapas focused menu, courtesy of head chef Claudio Morales. Still not seen anything you like? If you’d rather enjoy the view of the pool from a splash-safe distance, pop upstairs to enjoy quality Italian fare at Uccello. If partying is more your thing, Saturday nights at Pacha promise burlesque, circus performers and dance to liven up your weekend, and different parts of the venue hold events throughout the week.

They’ll also let you reserve a space in the den, terrace or cocktail bar if you’re having a celebration, though generally these have to have early evening start times. So whatever you’re after from your night out, whether it’s a quiet meal, a cosy chat in a secluded nook, some live entertainment or even a lounge by the pool, Ivy has you covered. There can be few people who won’t find at least part of this place to their tastes. It’s fantastic – in the truest sense of the word.
