This cosy Surry Hills drinking spot is pleasingly laid back, an almost homely, relaxed venue which is more about atmosphere than over-priced craft beer. The welcoming bar is kitted out with robust wooden tables and eclectic framed pictures with Polaroid photos plastered to the ubiquitous exposed brickwork. The beer ain’t too shabby there’s Vale Ale IPA on tap and for those who prefer their spirituous liquors, they serve a house-infused rum, laced with cinnamon and orange rind, and a house infused vodka of the month alongside a small range of crockpot cocktails including a refreshing White Wine Sangria and a potent Rum Punch. There’s a larger than usual selection of ciders available too (Wednesdays are ‘Sliders and Ciders’ nights FYI). The food menu is international in inspiration with a decent array of daily specials and a good selection of ‘dude food’ sliders, tacos, quesadillas and the like as well as bangers and mash, Porterhouse steak, Mexican-style beer battered fish and an epic Sunday roast on weekends for good measure. The vibe is really winning here, friendly and welcoming, the kind of place to which you can rock up and watch the footy or hang out with a bunch of mates and sink of a few drinks. Add there’s free popcorn which is always a good thing in our book.
