If you could rate a venue based upon furnishings alone, Indulge Experimental Bistro would undoubtedly garner rave reviews. From the luxurious, thick wallpaper, to the Chesterfield-style leather couches and chairs, to yet still the crystal-studded light fixtures, this Taipei restaurant and bar surely lives up to the indulgence cited in its name. Indulge Experimental Bistro aims to present seasonally-changing food menus alongside a creative cocktail list dreamed up by a three-time world champion mixologist (which should give you some clue as to just how delicious and inspired these creations are). Some of our favorite signature libations include the Silky Velvet – a decadent mix of cognac, apple and dark chocolate liqueurs, dry sparkling wine, cherry puree and apple juice – the Victoria Smash – a fruity combination of gin, white peach and lychee purees, hibiscus and rose infusion and red grapefruit juice – and the delicately-named Oriental Beauty – single malt whisky, pear puree, jasmine infusion, lemon and apple juices. Add to that an impressive range of gins and whiskies, an inspiring wine cellar, a few fruity mocktails, tea, coffee and soft drinks, and you definitely won’t go thirsty. Food at Indulge Experimental Bistro is European-inspired and fancy, running the gamut from duck breast with figs and sherry wine to cod roe risotto with scallops and late night snacks such as spicy chicken wings seasoned with cognac and fennel.
