Café VS is arguably the trendiest bar in town, attracting a discerning, arty crowd who are drawn to its high energy atmosphere. Décor is take-no-prisoners industrial – think exposed pipes and lagging, hammered copper chairs and lots of metal on display, as well as those banks of TV screens that, no matter how benevolent their purpose, always have a slightly sinister air, conjuring up CCTV control rooms or evil masterminds observing all. No such malice at work here, though the cocktails are certainly wicked enough (see what we did there?). The cocktail menu is heavy on vodka based drinks we’d recommend you try the San Francisco (Cointreau, vodka, banana liqueur and orange juice) or the fruity Green Cat. Those with a sweet tooth might like the Arctic Dream, which includes Irish cream liqueur and vanilla ice cream who needs dessert? There’s a decent selection of wines and beers on offer, as well as coffees and soft drinks, and of course plenty of vodkas to choose from! Make sure you check out downstairs the submarine-style basement is worth a visit. We like the food too. The menu offers a range of tasty dishes, generally with a Thai or Indian flavour think spicy samosas, tandooris and Thai chicken and as it’s open from 10am most mornings it’s a nice spot to pop into for coffee or lunch, with the atmosphere a little more laid back during the day. DJs provide the entertainment on weekends, spinning a mix of house, drum and bass and techno, keeping the cool kids of Tallinn grooving till the early hours.
