It’s hardly surprising that, given the name, The Venus Club is for many people’s money the sexiest spot in town, packed with drop dead gorgeous catwalk girls and dashing men built like military commandos. The style is renaissance bordello, just with better drinks. Expect red carpets, green jungle plants and nude David statues towering over the scene. A casino marks the entrance for that full ‘James Bond on holiday’ experience, while a long ground floor bar runs along one wall and a smaller balcony bar overlooks the action on the dance floor. High, brocaded ceilings add to the bordello effect. Your fellow Venetians are older than the crowd at Hollywood although those love goddesses in g-strings and bikinis gyrating seductively on raised plinths mean they’re just as sexually charged. Music comes care of an assortment of DJS with regular live music acts, and the venue holds regular happy hours and drinks promotions, while the bar staff know their way around a cocktail shaker so the drinks are usually well-made. The most regular punters hold silver membership cards and the crowd tends to be a mixed bunch of regulars and tourists, all looking for a party. Though some might find all this in your face sexiness a bit much (not everyone’s idea of a good time is watching scantily clad women dance on tables, or to mix with the kind of people for whom that is considered a good time, after all) for many a trip to the Venus Club is a truly unmissable Estonian experience.
