An out-of-the-way hipster hangout that your mother might have warned you about if she had ever seen anything like it. We hadn’t. There’s a giant stuffed lizard hanging from the ceiling, Aztec décor all over the place and even the toilets look like a Mayan tomb. If it’s ancient Mexican in style, the small-portioned food served at intimate low-slung tables is an eclectic mix of Japanese, Chinese and Western dishes, with the Arabic chicken being a surefire winner. But take your time: ease your way in with some great cocktails like mojitos or margaritas served at a leisurely pace by none-too-bothered staff, and try to work out whether that Mayan face mask staring at your from the far wall really did just wink at you.
