Nui. is an international bar in Tokyo set in a guest house with major hipster vibes. It’s located in the historical Kuramae warehouse district, just a stone’s throw away from Asakusa and the famous Senso-ji Temple. The team behind the trendy Tokyo hostel has managed to create an international community hub where people can relax, eat, drink and mingle in a super chilled setting.

Formerly a toy factory dating back to the Edo period, the warehouse it is set in has been brilliantly renovated with the help of designers, carpenters and craftsmen. The space is raw and industrial with a bohemian, artsy feel, fitting perfectly with its neighborhood surroundings – Kuramae is now the city’s hub for arts and crafts, with plenty of unique artisan shops and cafes and a dynamic population of young designers and creatives.

The careful thought placed into the design puts an emphasis on everything that’s handmade, which is where the name Nui. comes from. The lounge is furnished with handcrafted stools, chairs and benches, and almost everything is made out of wood. An impressive tree trunk stands in the middle of the two-levelled, concrete-floored space, supporting wooden bar counters around which guests love to gather.

Come by during the day and you’ll find the bright and airy venue quietly buzzing with tourists sorting out their day’s itinerary and people chatting over delicious, freshly brewed coffee. Starting at 6PM, the cafe turns into a bar with a very special and lively atmosphere, bringing visitors and guests together over delicious food and exceptional craft cocktails. For something rich, complex and elegant, try house signature Gentle Monkey, made with Monkey 47 dry gin, Lillet Blanc, St.Germain, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, lavender bitters and egg white, and garnished with an orange peel. The venue frequently holds live music performances, workshops, and pop-up events, making for authentic and memorable experiences.

ヌイ ホステルは、恐らく東京で最もクールなゲストハウスといえます。その美しくデザインされたカフェとバーラウンジは 人々が垣根を越えて集まれる交流の場となっています。

流行に敏感な人々が世界中から集まるインターナショナルなゲストハウス「ヌイ ホステル＆バー ラウンジ」は、東京の中でも、浅草や浅草寺から程近い、問屋街として有名な歴史のある街・蔵前にあります。このトレンディなホステルを運営するスタッフらは、 誰もが気軽に集まり交流することができるインターナショナルなコミュニティハブとして、飲んだり食べたりしながらリラックスして過ごせる場所を提供したいと考えています。

かつては江戸時代から続く玩具メーカーの倉庫だった建物を、デザイナーや大工、職人らの協力により改修して利用しています。内装を省いたインダストリアルなスペースには、自由で芸術的な雰囲気があふれており、近隣の雰囲気とも完璧に馴染んでいます。ものづくりをテーマにしたユニークなショップやカフェ、若いデザイナーやクリエイターらが集まる蔵前は、今や、アートとものづくりの街として注目を集めるエリアでもあります。

デザインを考えるにあって重視したのは、すべてを「手作り」するということ。ヌイ（「手縫い」の「縫い」）の名前もそこに由来しています。スツールや椅子、ベンチといったラウンジにある家具のすべては手作業で製作されており、ほぼすべての家具に木が使用されています。2つのフロアからなる空間の中央に配置された大きな木の幹、コンクリートの床、そこに、ゲストが集まる木製のバーカウンターを組み合わせています。

日中には、明るく広々とした空間に、その日の計画を立てる旅行者や淹れ立てのコーヒーを飲みながらおしゃべりをする 人々で賑わっています。夕方6時以降は、旅行者やゲストが集い、美味しい食事やオリジナルカクテルを楽しむことができる、活気あふれるバーへと変わります。複雑かつ芳醇でエレガントなカクテルがお好きな方におすすめしたいのは、モンキー47 ドライジン、リレ ブラン、サンジェルマン、生ライムジュース、シンプルシロップ、ラベンダービターズ、卵白をブレンドし、オレンジピールを添えて提供される、オリジナルカクテル「ジェントル・モンキー（Gentle Monkey)」です。音楽ライブやワークショップ、ポップアップイベント等も頻繁に開催されており、思い出に残るすばらしい時間を過ごすことができます。
