Part of Tucson’s historic Hotel Congress (which already is home to a café and hotel), Club Congress is one of the hottest live music spots in the city. Live acts play a couple of nights a week with DJs filling the dance floor the remainder of the time. The club sprang to life in the mid 1980s and has, over the years, gained a reputation as one of the best rock clubs in the US. It’s an ever popular venue and it can get packed out on weekends but the squeeze is all part of the fun. The adjoining Tap Room has an even more prestigious history: around since 1919, it has been the watering hole of choice for the city’s artists and musicians for decades.
