Stylez is a major Vienna party spot, all soft orange lighting and pounding sounds. The décor is glossy and colourful, with an illuminated central bar and in-your-face street frontage. This place certainly isn’t subtle, but it’s a must-visit for those who like their music and want to dance their nights away. Regular guest spots from renowned DJs and frequent themed evenings keep things fresh. Drinks are decent enough there’s a fairly extensive list of cocktails on offer and a reasonable choice of beers and spirits. A very popular happy hour runs from 5pm to 9pm daily, offering selected half price cocktails if you’re boozing on a budget and it does get pretty busy during the peak times though the friendly, cheerful staff generally seem to cope pretty well. It’s split into smoking and non-smoking areas, which can be off-putting to those travellers used to the smoke-free spaces of the UK and US, especially since the action does seem to happen in the smoking bit. But if you can cope with that, this place is all about the tunes and it doesn’t disappoint. The venue attracts a crowd of regulars as well as the odd tourist, but despite its handy location it’s more a local’s bar than a stop on the ‘things to see in Vienna’ list. The doorstaff have a reputation for being a bit fierce and when it’s busy, it’s really busy, so if you get stressed out by the crowds it’s probably best avoided, though through the day it’s more relaxed and the vibe is a lot more laid back.
