True to its name, Paris Cocktail has made every effort to recreate the atmosphere of a French bistro, with floor-to-ceiling windows at the front and deep red walls and golden lights inside. Yet certain touches still remind you that you’re in steamy Laos – like the palm trees that line the outdoor terrace and the infectiously-friendly bar staff. The atmosphere inside Paris Cocktail is cosy, but not claustrophobic, and the bartenders are more than happy to get creative with the large range of spirits laid out behind the bar.
The cocktail menu is filled with classics, often infused with a tropical twist (the Pineapple Ginger Collins and the Kiwi Sour are two such examples), yet there are also regular house specials which allow the staff’s fun side to shine. Previous concoctions have included the AvoCo Martini – fresh avocado, vodka, coconut syrup and coconut liqueur – and the Vodka-Puccino – vodka, Irish cream liqueur, amaretto, coffee and caramel, topped with whipped cream. Paris Cocktail also serves laughably-large sharing cocktails in huge glasses (which are actually more like vases) with extra-long straws that are sure to entertain and delight. There’s also bottled beers and cider on the menu, and for those who have worked up an appetite, the bar will gladly order pizza for you from a local family restaurant. Yes, they’re really that nice.
