Tucked away on Tory Street, the Hawthorn Lounge is modelled after a 1920s gentlemen’s club. Think lots of leather armchairs and green shaded lamps. An open fire crackles in the corner and the staff wear natty waistcoats and caps. As well as looking dapper said staff also know how to make a superior cocktail, old school drinks to match the old school atmosphere; classic, clean flavours and premium ingredients. Away from the frenzy of Courtenay Place, it’s a nice laid-back place to have a drink and to have a conversation where you can actually hear one another speak. The word is out though, so it can get quite full.
