Located at the corner of Badenerstrasse, Forum is an airy lounge bar and restaurant, ideal for kicking back and unwinding. The building has been used as a host of entertainment venues since it was built, including a cinema, but has now been renovated in a cool contemporary style. With a pared back, modern décor (lots of dark wood and white walls), Forum has plenty of sofas for slumping and a sizeable bar area. It’s a great place to grab a beer and chill, and the huge wall to floor windows that run the length of the front mean that it’s a fantastic venue to people watch and just enjoy letting the world stroll past your window. It’s a very popular spot, though and has a tendency to get pretty packed as the evening progresses, especially on weekends (it’s also been known to attract the odd famous face, so keep your eyes peeled). The kitchen really know what they’re doing, serving up a decent selection of tapas type dishes, and the bar staff can mix a mean cocktail, though service can be slightly hit or miss when it gets very busy so sometimes they aren’t as speedy as you’d like. It’s also not the cheapest of places, even by Zurich’s own standards, though generally it makes up for that in quality. Resident DJs regularly crank up the atmosphere and the youngish crowd is friendly and lively. It’s also increasingly popular as a brunch spot on weekends, when the generous portions of the American Breakfasts will set you up for the day.
