- Night Out
May 11, 2018
As the name suggests the inspiration for this club is ‘Paris meets the Orient’. A common enough theme, perhaps, nowadays but nicely handled here in a venue that looks like a movie set you half imagine seeing Catherine Deneuve wandering around, dressed for the heat in slightly crumpled white linen. The space really is gorgeously decorated stylish hanging lanterns, animal print lampshades, Buddha statues and rich, red walls and lots of comfortable seating. Set over two floors, Indochine is a bar and club but it also offers very moreish Vietnamese nibbles. A wonderful venue in which to just sit and chill early on in the evening, it does get more lively later on (if admittedly a little euro-housey) but it’s still a difficult place to leave. Nice little alcoves with comfy seats make it very loungy and relaxed – without the need for opium pipes. Note, it’s closed on Wednesdays and some nights are clubbier than others the fact that it offers a special ‘bachelorette party package’ will give you a clue as to the type of patrons the main club can attract! Ladies however might be tempted by the famous Thursday Night ‘Red Cups’, when they are given a red cup at the door and can drink for free all night, meaning things can get fairly raucous. The club also hosts regular events, one off appearances by bands or DJs and record label promo events. In fact, be sure to check what’s on the calendar as some nights might be a tad full on for some tastes for instance the Slavery night features live piercings and tattoos, so isn’t for the timid!
