This stylish Zurich bar is a visually striking space, housed in a glass cube above the Schiffbau, a former shipyard. Needless to say the views of the city’s skyline are excellent and the bar’s interior is also pretty smart, a sleek and contemporary space, all glass and chrome and concrete with floor to ceiling windows allowing you to make the most of the view. It’s a split level affair with the first floor housing the main bar area and a trendy lounge on the floor above where DJs play on weekends. The cocktail list covers all the bases, including classic aperitifs like the Negroni, Americano and the French 75. There are also a range of gin and vodka-based tipples, including all the usual suspects, the Gimlet, the Cosmo, even the White Russian (the Dude would approve) as well as a shorter list of bourbon and whisky based drinks and a selection of sparkling cocktails we like the sound of the Sally, a mix of Prosecco, Vermouth, Campari, lemon and Grenadine. There’s a wide range of spirits available (including a particular good choice of single malts) as well as a range of wines and champagnes. The crowd is as stylish as the surroundings and the prices err on the Swiss side.
