    Ten Pisco Sours

A few years back you’d be pressed to find many places outside of South America which served this classic Peruvian cocktail, but that’s all changed – there’s even a national pisco sour day now (it falls on the 1st February) - and numerous bars around the world serve a version of this mix of pisco, a South American grape brandy, blended with sugar, citrus, bitters and egg white. It’s a deceptively light and frothy but potent drink, dating back to the 1920s, where it was invented by an American bartender working in Lima, and it’s easy to see why it’s become so popular, the drink now associated the world over with the country from which it came. Here’s a few of our favourite places in which to sink a sour.
