Let yourself be tempted by the Porn Star Martini

The Porn Star Martini isn't just a drink. Properly prepared, it's a whole experience. This lush fruity concoction uses the tropical sweetness of passion fruit and the sparkle of champagne or prosecco to deliver an outstanding cocktail.

Invented at the turn of the century by Douglas Ankrah, owner of the LAB bar in London, it reportedly got its "porn star" name from its creator to evoke "a stylish and confident drink...[that's]….pure indulgence, sexy, fun and evocative”. Here's how to make this cheeky crowd pleaser.

Main alcohol : Vodka

Ingredients

2 oz Vanilla Vodka

1 oz Passoã

1/2 oz lime juice

1/2 oz simple syrup

2 oz Brut Champagne or Prosecco

2 Passion Fruits

Preparation

Take two fresh passion fruits, 2 oz vanilla vodka, 1 oz Passoã, 1/2 oz lime juice, 1/2 oz simple syrup and 2 oz Brut champagne or prosecco. Wash and halve the passion fruits. Scoop out the flesh of three halves and place in a cocktail shaker with a cup of ice and the other ingredients, except the champagne/Prosecco. Shake the cocktail until properly chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and let the remaining half passion fruit float in the drink as a garnish. Pour the champagne/Prosecco into a chilled shot glass and serve on the side. Finally, eat the passion fruit half, then take alternating sips of the cocktail and the champagne/Prosecco.
