Bangkok
Bangkok is a city famous for its sizzling nightlife. From swanky rooftop lounges to infamous red-light districts and everything in between, the options for late-night drinking, snacking, shopping and dancing are truly endless. Discover Bangkok after dark.

Start off your evening by checking out one of the city’s opulent sky bars, where you can sip on a world-class cocktail as you take in the gorgeous views. Sky Bar at Lebua, of The Hangover II fame, is the most well-known and the highest open-air bar in the world. Other notable venues include Red Sky at the Centara Grand, Moon Bar at the Banyan Tree, and Park Society at the Sofitel SO.

Next up, head over to Chinatown (did you know that Bangkok’s is the largest in the world?) for some incredible eats in a unique atmosphere. Beyond all the delicious food, Chinatown is also home to two beautiful temples, the Wat Traimit – where you can spot the famous Golden Buddha -, and the Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, as well as some vibrant street art, which you can spot in the alleys surrounding Sampeng Lane street market.

It’s now time to discover the world famous Khao San Road, Bangkok’s top backpacker nightlife destination. A melting pot of bars, clubs, massage parlors, street food vendors and performers, this iconic street becomes a bustling open-air carnival come nightfall. If you’d like to settle down somewhere a bit more low-key, nearby Rambuttri Village is the perfect compromise, offering a wide selection of places to eat, drink and shop in a slightly more grown-up atmosphere.

Then, if you’re in the mood for a night of dancing, hit up Royal City Avenue or RCA, one of Bangkok‘s largest entertainment and clubbing areas. Well to-do locals, expats and tourists flock to its multitude of bars, nightclubs and live music venues to party the night away. Expect strict dress codes, swanky drinks and flashing lights.

Or if you want to see all the fuss is about, discover the city’s famed red light districts, starting with Patpong. One of Bangkok’s first red light areas, it is now also home to more laid-back venues as well as a large late night market where you can find all kinds of clothes and souvenirs. Soi Cowboy offers a similar vibe,  with options ranging from flashy strip joints to chill outdoor terraces. Finally, Nana Plaza is the raunchiest of the city’s red light districts. Loud music, bright lights and flashy outfits are the norm, and most people who come here are not looking to go home alone.

Finally, come up for some air at Thonglor, a trendy going out district with a (way) more relaxed and sophisticated vibe. From stylish restaurants to fancy wine bars, chic cocktail lounges and swanky clubs, this favorite area among affluent locals is attracting more and more foreign visitors. Come here for a classy good time and some top-notch people watching, and make sure you dress to impress. If you’re more into a craft beer, vegan food and alternative music kind of vibe, then head over to nearby Ekkamai, an up and coming hipster area that’s perfect to end your evening on a chilled, friendly note.
